Our School Vision, Values and Role Models
Our School Vision
Our school vision is very important in shaping the way we work with children:
“To foster a caring community where all children actively participate in enquiry-led purpose-driven learning. We promote resilience and resourcefulness and sustainability. Children are challenged and supported to fully explore their individual talents, be the best that they can be and proud of themselves and the area in which they live.”
Our Values
To help us achieve our vision, we have a set of values which are taught in assemblies and promoted throughout the school. Our values are:
Respect
Love
Freedom
Understanding
Humility
Responsibility
Equality
Justice
Democracy
Role Models
Our children are outstanding role models and ambassadors for our school. Values, learning behaviours and citizenship are embedded within the curriculum and assemblies, and our pastoral care is outstanding.
House Captains model positive behaviour and Buddies mentor younger children, leading play activities.
Staff and children are incredibly proud to be part of the Moorside family and this is reflected in their enthusiasm and dedication to their learning and also how they care and support each other in every aspect of school life.
Our active School Council works alongside the staff to ensure our children’s views and feedback are fed into whole-school initiatives, with ambassadors representing our school at the local Pupil Parliament. Each year, the School Council are instrumental in working with the school leadership to develop aspects of the school and in raising money for good causes, locally and internationally.
